Ho Ho Ho, Who Would Know?
CAN SUPERMAN SAVE CHRISTMAS!?!? Oh, dude, that is cheez-EE. Without fail, every ep of Smallville I can think of has one moment of utter and complete Velveeta ugh, but drunken Santa on the rooftop yelling about the spirit of Christmas being dead? Dude. A new standard has been set. A really LOW one. Tell me they're not going to play this one every year now, like A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Otherwise, though, I have to say I'm really enjoying the Very Special Lex-mas. I'm a total sucker for dream sequences in any instance, and Lex goes through It's a Wonderful Life is turning out to be a fairly clever way of handling the How Lex Went Wrong question. If things went differently, he'd be a good guy, married to Lana, poor but happy. I swear, the opening song ought to be "somebody save Lex!"
Argh! Now, Santa's a psychologist! "Conversations With Dead People" much? And whaddya wanna bet he's the real Santa?
"The Spirit of Christmas isn't dead after all," says Santa, impressed by Clark and Chloe's gift-delivery follies. "Neither is the spirit of hokey-butt writing," chimes in Toys.
Must stop now. Sides hurt from laughing.
Busyness is this week's word - next week's too. Temp agency appointments, no doubt lots of competency tests for software and typing I'm not sure how well I'll hold up on, but whatever - throw the grammar and spelling at me, they can't foozle me there. And at least I have new clothes - downtown SF now has an H&M, and thanks to the wonderful world of British imports, I was able to find slacks that fit me for interview purposes. Two pairs, chocolate brown, one in pinstriped wool and wide legs (they make me feel like Greta Garbo, albeit with a middle-aged tummy), and the other in that stretch fabric I love so, very trim and styling. New shoes too, squared-off pointy brown heels, and a knit shoulder bag, olive green yarn with leather handles and pom-pom ties, like the type I used to have on a snow hat when I was small. Ah, for one blissful shopping day, I got to feel like

Oh... wait for it. Oh, you've gotta be kidding me.
So now Lex goes evil to save his WIFE, just like in Revenge of the Sith? WTF? Can't anyone just be good or evil without having a woman dying to motivate him? ARRGGH!

And oh god yes, the "broken heart." Although coming up with a medical reason wouldn't necessarily have made any more sense - look at poor Anakin, who doesn't exactly get rushed to the ER with his horrific burns, but sealed up inside some shiny black armor, without even so much as a wash to get all the gravel out of his injuries? Right, that's a treatment option! Seems like Star Wars medicine is a little less than ideal.

The thing that struck me at the time was, that no one knew she was expecting twins! They can make a perfect, working replica of a human hand, but they don't have ultra sound scans? (Maybe it just goes to show that it was written by a man?)
