He's actually the monk Spike and Andrew talk to in "Empty Spaces." His name didn't come up in the series, so we just gave him one. And he's in Santa Cruz because it's more or less due west of where he originally was, in Gilroy, and we figured he'd have tried to run toward the coast, and towns with larger populations.
HA! (OK, is that "just" a throwaway -- or a clue? Either way, it's good.)

Damn! Very cute. OK, I'm not the biggest fan of the Slayer Babies as a rule, but Slayer Babies on sugar....I can dig.
We simply had to do something with the Junior Slayers. We both felt very strongly that there was a lot of wasted potential there (sorry for the pun). Not only are they terribly useful, story-wise - as outside observers, they can comment on our main cast and ask a lot of questions - they're more or less in the same position as Buffy was in S1, teenage girls trying to come to terms with their new powers. So we created some originals to play with - our challenge will just be to make them interesting instead of annoying.
Why is Willow singing "Helter Skelter"?
