So glad you liked!

I really felt the Xander & Buffy vibe needed some kind of explanation, especially Buffy's point of view on it. (People who really wanted to see a Xander/Buffy hookup will of course disagree with my take on it, but going the other way, if Buffy/Xander was what we were supposed to see here, then the show didn't go anywhere near far enough - I'd've wanted to see evidence of sleepovers, dammit, not this neither-here-nor-there stuff.) I don't think it was fair to the audience to just throw a whole new dynamic out there and just leave us scratching our heads. Isn't it important I have some idea where the main character's head is at with her relationships? Argh.

Buffy's words make me wonder what evil things she's seen lurking.

I guess that's just me trying to set up Buffy's outlook as fairly pessimistic, like she always expects the worst now. Did it read more as she's thinking of something specific?

As for questions... hmm... I suppose I could ask what the deal was with the Potentials' families ("Hey Mom, Dad! I'm fifteen and heading off to California with this old British guy! That cool with you?"), but I'm paralyzed by not caring a whit about them. I'd be more interested in Giles (why Pod?) and Willow (why more guilt about moving on than, oh, murder?).

Oh, god yes, the Potentials. Yes, I agree that needs tackling. (It actually bothered me most with Amanda, whose parents supposedly lived in Sunnydale, and yet she came to live at Buffy's house? What th--?)

I have plans for Willow. Mwha ha ha....
