AHHHH!!!!!!

You are totally living in my brain!

When I answered you last night, I was wiped out from writing reports all evening, but I was gonna give you my thesis on Angel this morning...and it's Angel as the doomed hero archetype- Osiris, King David, The Hanged Man, etc. But ...but...you already got it. Whee!

Pardon me while I get my geek on. I'm writing an essay on Angel for the Idol Community (Paratti just did hers on Spike) and it's all about Angel becoming a General, a King, and how now he's never gonna be able to build a temple now, because warriors don't get to do that, and then there's all the references to Oedipus, of course, and let's not forget the huge honking semi-virgin birth stuff with Connor, wherein Angel is not Jesus at all, but Joseph, the guy through whom things happen but who doesn't get diddly squat in terms of reward or recognition in the end, and oh! How about the fact that Osiris had his dick cut off ("are you a eunuch?") and thrown in the *ocean* and...ok, I'll stop now.

Maybe you'll wanna look at the essay when it's done. *G*

God, for a Season 6 that would have tied all this together. Because yea, I can see where it felt rushed, although for me personally maybe a bit less so, because Angel is my guy, and I've thought about all this pretty much since AtS Ep 1. So I don't see politics, I just see big, beautiful arcs of metaphor building.

And once more, fuck you WB.
