Buffy's really trying to walk a line here, I think - yep, she's got all sorts of assumptions, but they're based on having put some actual thought into the situation, and trying to be sensitive to his feelings. So I'm feeling very affectionate toward her right now, the poor dear, because even though things clearly can't go as smoothly as she thinks they will, she is sincerely trying to mend some very sensitive injuries.
