A Belated Very Happy Birthday to avrelia!!


It never fails: I can have little or nothing on my social and professional calendar for months, and then suddenly, it all goes batshit at once. The good news is, I have a new job, starting today. Plus a fair amount of freelance coming in. The bad news is, it's messing with my fic writing. And just when it was starting to go well, after a long dry spell! (bangs head)

I managed to get the first chapter of my seasonal_spuffy fic, Action Figures and Fashion Dolls, posted on time, but due to unforseen insane busyness, there will be a slight delay before I can get the next part up. My apologies!

So far, the stress level has been thankfully low, but oh-my-busy. I'd gotten kind of use to being a lady of quite a bit of leisure on the freelance schedule, and now... hoo-boy.

Thank you! Weirdly enough, I've been really inspired lately, so I'm half-wondering if there's not some kind of relationship between miniscule free time and inspiration - when I had lots of free time in my freelance schedule, I often couldn't think of a thing. Ironic!

I'm working for a photographer who also does digital printing, so I'm getting to learn to work with all the high-end digital equipment like drum scanners and the big inkjet mural printers. It's especially nice, since I've been missing the photo work, which is something I never had time for during the publishing years... it's good to get back into it again.

And yes, Halloweenage will be soon! Invites should go out tomorrow morning - let me know if there's anyone in your group of pals I should add to the list. The more, the merrier!

Thanks! It's SO not one thing at a time. I'm having to rediscover my ability for multitasking kind of on the fly. But it's inspiring too, in a way - maybe I can only do this now because I had all that time previous to rest up and restore my energy.

Thanks! And I'm hoping all this won't impact the fic TOO much, since it does seem to give me a lot of time on transit and whatnot to contemplate the story - I've done a lot of plotting for this one while in between jobs. It's only the sitting down to do the actual writing that I'm short on time for!
