In the back of my mind, I'm aware that the demons-speaking-English thing is just because, for show purposes, it was funny - it allowed for demons like Skip on AtS, who looked like a Hellraiser monster and yet joked about his commute.... dramatic/comic irony. On the other hand, there's this part of me that wants to come up with a story reason for it, because... well, that's where the fun of fanfic comes in. Expanding the universe. And once I started thinking about it... what would be the reason for demons to know what you're saying? If they want something more than your blood or guts, that is.
