I've missed so many birthdays, it's honestly embarrassing: [livejournal.com profile] botias, [livejournal.com profile] spikes_heart, [livejournal.com profile] pukajen, [livejournal.com profile] romanyg, [livejournal.com profile] dessert_first, [livejournal.com profile] pfeifferpack, [livejournal.com profile] lillianmorgan, [livejournal.com profile] ascian3, [livejournal.com profile] rikko_oko.... Very Happy Belated Birthdays to you all, and hopes for a great year ahead.

Good Christ, I'm behind on everything. I haven't even read any of the Bring Back the Porn Day entries on InsaneJournal. Something's clearly wrong with the world. Or I've just been too busy. Or both. Sigh...

[livejournal.com profile] coyote_william has a poll about the Slayer activiation spell: good idea or bad, morally speaking? (Not just good/bad in terms of plot device, in other words.) I've contributed to this thread a lot; I have big honking problems with "Chosen" which I apparently still need to get off my chest. Isn't it amazing how some things will nearly always draw you back into the same damn conversations?

Fic rec: We Who Are About to Die, a Spike & Anya conversation on the night before the battle of "Chosen." Really like this one, the knowing quality of it. Sublime.

More dribs and drabs, some links picked up from the Flist )

I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] ruuger's Buffy is the Hero, Dammit! ficathon. Because I am insane, and don't have enough WIPs to work on. And I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] seraphcelene's Fic Meta-a-Thon too. Because I am INSANE. Clearly.

But on that note:

Wow, you'd think I was the only person in America who'd never seen The Sopranos.

A big, big, grateful thank to you to the wonderful person who nominated my ficlet Heaven at Love's Last Glimpse. Wow, I haven't thought about that story for awhile )

Oh, this is just TOO funny. [livejournal.com profile] shadowscast had a post about using MS Word's Autosummary function to pull up 100-word drabbles from long fics that are so Dada that it's absolutely inspiring. Of course I had to try it. Witness: Fun With AutoSummary, Dirty Back Road Version )

So it's Superbowl Sunday. I'm even going to a party later on to watch the game, and I have no idea who's playing. Even the guys throwing the party (and they are guys, so presumably the target audience for this sort of thing) say they're mostly there for the commercials, so there you go, you can tell your grandkids that there was at least one legacy from the dotcom boom that continues to effect our lives. (Aside from online shopping, etc... yeah, whatever.) But I really am beginning to think that the game is getting to be like what they say about scones in a Devon Cream Tea - just shelving to prop up all that jelly and cream.

Nice Suprise!: I got up yesterday to find this wonderful present in my mailbox:Click for pretty )

Subject Change!: It occurred to me just the other day that the two TV shows I'm currently watching and really enjoying - Dirt and Ugly Betty, which I'm catching now after seeing the first episode while we were in England - are both about magazine publishing. Delicious. So much more fun to idolize editors now that I don't have to be one. (Although even when I still was, there was J. Johah Jameson, and that was just the best. If ONLY.)

Okay, so maybe that Pure Evil quiz result wasn't so far off after all. I sometimes miss having an office desk to pound dramatically. (Should I mention here that the JJJ action figure was absolutely awesome, and had desk-pounding action!?)

Little background construction thoughts and Easter eggs inside my William story, just stuff I wrote down as I worked. Yes, I've shamelessly mined my personal experiences on a couple of England visits for details. Feel free to ask me any other questions that pop to mind. It's probable I've thought about it, even if it didn't make it into the story.Read more... )
