Gah, I'd forgotten about him directing The Hobbit. Yeah, that doesn't bode as well now, although maybe the straightfoward structure of Tolkein's story (it is, after all, practically the ur-quest tale upon which every Dungeons-'n-Dragons-style followup has been templated) will help with that. I hope.
