Here, I feel compelled to show you my big list of Stargate recs. The time sink part isn't wrong; the fic is such that you can dive in and read a great story every day and be set for the next... well, couple years. But the stuff on my list is sorted by length though. So you can stay away from the novel-length fic if you don't want to get sucked in too bad (though there are some AMAZING novels.)
