I remember looking at property in the area during that brief window in the mid-'90s when Toys and I almost could've afforded to buy (just before the Internet bubble began, after which forget it!), and wow, it was way out of our range. Probably because all the Portrero places were so BIG compared to the rest of SF. Like real houses!
I feel very glad my brother never gave my dolls haircuts! What a traumatic experience. (I'd been tempted to give one of the Barbies a bob once, but one of my best friends tried it with one of her dolls, so I already knew how well it didn't work.)
Glad you enjoyed the links! I keep meaning to post more recs/reviews, especially to the fics I re-read whenever I need an uplift, but time gets away from me. At some point I really have to write some kind of swooning tribute shadowscast's "Fragments" series, especially. It's S/X, not S/B, but oh so wonderful.
