Such a sucker for quizzes. This one's so Seventeen-magazine it's taking me back to my youth as a swoony Dirk Benedict fan. : ) Lovingly borrowed from [livejournal.com profile] magista

What is Your Heart REALLY Made of?
brought to you by Quizilla

Back pain is finally improving - today the second day I was able to manage a walk around the neighborhood without it looking like a sort of sideways crab shuffle. There's still something weird going on with my pelvis alignment - I can feel it in the way my hips are moving when I walk - but at least I'm not getting the white-lightning lower-back warning flashes and the strange crippled posture, all hipshot and contorted. (And it only took a week flat on my back - good thing I'm not working full time.) If I keep up the physical activitiy and make a visit or two to the chiropractor (argh, out of pocket expense, grumble, grouch), all should be well. And then I can get back on my plan of intense exercise - I made the mistake of ordering something from Victoria's Secret once upon a time, and now I keep getting these catalogs from various companies selling Faith-style tart gear, which I deeply covet. Only my midriff is nowhere near the low-slung-jeans-and-cropped-top stage yet. Too much Thai takeout!

Weather in San Francisco is beautiful right now - I swear, I've lived in this city for... ohmigod, 15 years now, and sometimes I still marvel that this is home. Lovely place. Never get tired of exploring the neighborhoods or digging into the history. Always something new.

Little else to report. Plenty of people still pondering "A Hole in the World" - [livejournal.com profile] deifire makes an interesting case in comparing Angel to Smallville on the subject of death and dying... hm. From a pop culture angle, I'd also noticed this as a continuing theme in more places, the creeping, encroaching contagion. Also a sort of uncomfortable coming-to-terms with the idea that you yourself may have contributed to the problem as a cog in whatever machine made this happen... I guess that too fits into the sell-out theme then, the idea that you've deferred your individuality for the greater good, only to find that it's not so good after all. Hmm.....
