A quick update, since I'm on a working computer for the moment.

Tech!
The Lemon!iBook will be headed back to Apple for Round 3 repair this week. Tech guy says three logic board failures is "unusual." (snort!) The old G3, while adequate for typing, can't handle LJ updates, because it's running creaky IE, which crashes when you try to access this snazzy new update page. Oh, LJ - you done gone an update too far for my OldTech. So I'm writing reams of material I can't really post right now. There'll probably be a slew of updates when the LemonLaptop returns from the grave.

Creative!
Have very possibly overcommitted myself on a few projects - currently working the mojo on three WIPs, plus just got my William ficathon assignment yesterday. Gee, let's fit in some Victorian era research along with those essays I promised to write plus some actual getting-paid-for-it stuff and possibly working on my resume. Hey, why not? (bangs head repeatedly on desk)

Who Cares!
Pointless personal info on me includes the facts that I'm slowly getting over a vicious cold - at least I hope it's a cold and not a sign that my allegies have gotten so bad in my old age that every time we do a major housecleaning I come down with a chest infection - foot finally recovering from whatever gasket blew this last time, so I can walk again, hooray; energy returning to let me know how out of sorts I've been for months without even knowing it, yikes. New TV season somehow failing to rouse my interest - haven't seen Lost yet or any of the other new series people seem to like; mostly looking forward to Farscape miniseries and, along with [livejournal.com profile] toysdream, am probably one of the only two people who seem to like Lois on Smallville, which I totally can't figure out. C'mon, folks! Lois! She's a bigmouth! She says stuff! She's not boring! She's not Lana! She actually has breasts! I like her! She livens up the screen, big time! Love Lois! And if last night's ep was any indication, she's all you've got this year now that Lex's story seems to have stalled and the series has re-entered the Krypto-Freak-of-the-Week zone. (Which for some distorted reason, I really enjoyed - the trash value was huge and somehow loveable, although is there some rule that Chloe can't be happy for a whole episode? Argh...)

I could rant about political stuff, but I'll hold it to this: I remember Nixon. He's the first president I really remember. I remember when everyone in America thought the government was full of crooks. And yet somehow, Dick Cheney can tell bald-faced lies on TV, easily verifiable ones (sat in Senate every Tuesday? how about twice in four years?), and not get seriously challenged on it? Grown adults now enjoy that being-treated-like-infants feeling? I actually am missing the days of Nixon.
