All About the Update
Jan. 15th, 2006 11:01 amAm working my way through January crankiness - weather-related or not, I'm not sure, although we have been experiencing rather a lot of annoying morning rain (exactly the time when I typically go for my daily walk/bike ride, argh). If I lag in replying or engaging in the good convos out there, that's probably why, not that it's a great excuse.
Happy Birthdays! today - the ever-generous
makd, whose wonderful fic rec lists keep us all plentifully supplied with great reading material, yay!, and also
kantayra, whose Spuffy fics were probably some of the first I ever read, and to whom I thus owe a large debt of gratitude. Have wonderful ones, you two! All my best.
More me-stuff: I'm ten days past my two-year anniversary here on LJ. Damn, but time flies. Not sure what I can assign to my time here, other than motivating me to finally get off my ass and do some creative writing (which otherwise never would have occurred to me), but if I were to think of something else to credit LJ with, it would be helping me to talk to other people on a regular basis about a much larger variety of things than I would have otherwise. It's nice to be reminded that there really are people all around the world who can see eye-to-eye (or at least argue about why they don't), just that modern society offers so few opportunities to even start conversations with strangers outside of school and work. In that sense, the Internet has definitely been a boon.
Sadness: I see Shelley Winters has died, for which I mourn. Belated memorium also to Vincent Schiavelli, one of those character actors whose interesting face became such a welcome sight over the years. And I see from
tesla321's post that there's some kind of mass exodus from the WWE, although that those guys might be rethinking their life paths after the death of poor Eddie Guerrero maybe isn't such a surprise. Rest in peace.
