Fire! Are you Kidding Me?
Aug. 25th, 2006 10:33 amSo in between yesterday morning, when I was having problems with my laptop and checked it against the old battery exchange program page (yes, there was one - in my repeating problems-with-the-iBook-logic-board follies, I'd come across a rather quietly handled battery recall, but that, at least, was one problem my iBook didn't have), and evening, when by complete chance I overhead a TV news squib about a new battery recall, complete with pictures of laptops that had caught fire, agggh!, my laptop battery's serial number suddenly DID appear on the list of things you want to stop using right now and send back to the factory. So, um, yeah. I'm on a power cord right now, and will be for a few weeks, looks like. I've already had one Oops, Cord Dislodged moment that's really not going to be helping me with work issues over the next month. Hear me gargle with frustration.
In other news, Who Wants to Be a Superhero? was so emotional last night! I'm not ashamed to say I cried, hard. For, like, a half hour straight. It was that moving. The conclusion to this one is going to be tough.
I have new appreciation for Stan Lee. I'm really getting something interesting out of this. The show really has started to pare the characters down to their essential cores, to see how much hero is really in there. I'm impressed, dammit. Really impressed.
