My apologies for not having Part 2 of my essay on Herself's What She Deserves up just yet - I've been fighting off one of my multi-day headaches, so I've not been able to look at any kind of lit screen for more than few minutes the last couple of days. It's fading now, finally, so normal service will resume shortly. In the meantime, I give you a question to ponder that will explored further in Part 2: In what ways does the post-"Grave" story change with the assumption that Spike did not ask for his soul, but received it as some kind of trick or a joke?
