I understand we're getting clues through what Sirk's reading and what Xander hears, but I have to admit I'm confused about the god-siblings....was Xander taking the place of the river god, with the new eye? Or am I totally missing something?
The hubby was going to answer this at some length, but I told him a big explanation right now would be too spoilery... so you can blame me for the vagueness.
Essentially, the mythology we're drawing on here is all real-world stuff that's actually in encyclopedias you could look up. Sirk's rendition just adds a spot or two that's relevant to what the gang is dealing with. But we're integrating in a lot of traditional ancient legends and world history stuff that plays in. There will be more on that later.
As to what god maps to who and that sort of thing, it's meant to be a bit unclear at this point. If I were to give you a hint, it would be that not every character is just one thing, or the same thing everytime.
(Hints from Toysdream: See under "Eye of Horus" and "Mimir's Well." Heh!)
