Lord knows we've all had ample time to get used to New Improved Horrible Buffy, but what got me in rewatching "Villains" was Xander. I'm sitting there going "Dayum! I'd forgotten they were writing the guy as such a total prick that year!" At least that eased up a little in Season Seven...
Anya was always adorable, though. I'm suddenly envisioning a League of Substitute Champions made up of neglected second-string Buffyverse characters - Anya, Lorne, Gunn, Dawn, et cetera. They'd banter, kibitz, occasionally solve low-grade Scooby Doo mysteries, and every season they'd save an individual continent rather than the world as a whole.
