Interestingly, Buffy's subjective perseption of "real reality" in Bargaining 2 reminds very much the vision of a drugged person.
I also remember that initially writers planned to place Normal Again soon after OMWF, i.e. the episode where Buffy reveals to her friends that she was in heaven. But later moved it to the last third of the season. I find it especially interesting that NA had been written by Whedon's assistant who never wrote for Buffyverse before and never written anything after. I think that NA script was very much Jossed and I think it's a very Jossian concept - heaven as mental institution when people are kept "happy".
