Can't think of a damn thing for that "Ten Things" meme - I'm sure I've got a few events in my life that no one else has done, but probably nothing anyone would care to read about. Woe is me that I've never gotten wild as I should have, and spit off the Charles Bridge, or pantsed someone of high stature, or anything amusingly memorable. Just, you know... typical college stuff like "traying" in the snow, which I'm sure others have done, and... oh, geez, I got nuthin'. Visited St. Petersburg on the city's 300th anniversary? Best I got.
But Happy Birthday to
asta77!
Weird day, otherwise. Spent most of it writing frantically trying to wrap up "The Center," although I'll probably throw out and do over most of what I got written. Currently still writing frantically on some actual work-related fare about which I'm somewhat less than motivated. Received notice of new fic award nominations (!!), for "The Center" - you people are still way too nice - and at this point I'm starting to bite my nails hard about this story. Can I really pay this off in a way that deserves such attention? When I started it, it was just this weird little silly thing... but then, so was "Dirty Back Road." What is wrong with me that I can't just write fluff and leave it there? (nervous chewing sounds)
The Toys and I have one piece of sheer coolness to look forward to this weekend for a break in the routine, a visit to Evil Dead Live, an onstage blood bucket-tossing zombie show. Now that's entertainment.
All for now. See Constantine. It's goood. Then check out The Order if you liked that - Heath Ledger as a demon-busting priest. Set in Rome. Sort of like The X-Files in priests' collars.
