AGGGGHH! Let Go of My Music!

Downloader Beware!: iTunes 7 is a big, sucky yellow LEMON of SUCK. My software updater hassled me into installing the upgrade and oh, why did I not listen to that sinking feeling I had and skip this version? The "gapless playback" function is a buggy program-freezer - it locks up iTunes on startup. Joy. Command-period to stop it from running; the only way to get out of the damn thing otherwise is to restart. And no, there's nothing wrong or corrupted about the songs it freezes on, they play just fine. It's a suck feature that currently has no control panel I can find. Do yourself a favor, don't upgrade this time, wait for the bug-fix.
Otherwise, er... yeah, I'm still being boring.
So Hey, TDH (you might ask), Why Are You Being So Lame and Not Around Very Much Anyway?: Well, about that. I am going to be a little scarce online for the short-term immediate future. Same project eating my head as before, I'm just not done yet. And somewhere between slapping myself out of a bad procrastination habit and coming to grips with the fact that this deadline really needs meeting, I'm going to have to crack down on my LJ time, at least until the end of this month. After which I'll become a whirlwind of feedback.*
*Not that I really believe anyone's holding their breath to hear what I have to say in particular, but I do hate feeling like I'm falling behind with everyone's stories. There's such an immediate, fun rush of a new post, and I do firmly believe in feedback as an important community function. Or something like that. Le sigh. I'll just get back to work now.
Stargate SG-1: Okay, was it me, or was that just a really boring episode? And I really am starting to wonder now if Christopher Judge didn't have some kind of groin injury or something that precluded him doing much of anything other than sitting and standing still getting fake-tortured, because how many episodes this season has it been? And groan, next week is the search for the Holy Grail? Ack, barf, and ack again. Let's have some more Ba'al instead. I'm cool with Ba'al.
Stargate Atlantis: Well, that was more fun. Although I'm still not seeing the Shepard/Rodney. Don't think I ever will. In my mind, everyone slashes with Ronon Dex. And hey, they used the Stargate! Y'know, like they used to on SG-1, sigh...
The Showtime Masters of Horror Series: Rocks. We've been Netflixing them, and haven't seen a bad one yet. Kudos also to Joe Dante's "Homecoming," the most pointed piece of political commentary I've seen since Team America: World Police. Iraq war casualities come back from the dead as zombies to tell us how they really feel. Ouch. If you ever wished for a horror director to take aim at political pundits, this is the one to see.
The weather is very nice today here in SF. Halloween merchandise is crowding the stores, and it's starting to feel like fall. By the time my
seasonal_spuffy posting date rolls around, everything will be shiny and new and autumnal. Shiny. New. Ready-for-the-holidays. And I'll be DONE with this project, dammit. DONE.
Otherwise, er... yeah, I'm still being boring.

LOL. But, seriously, Chris Judge has had nothing to do this season. Can the writers be that clueless as to what to do with him? And I am guessing he won't be going to SGA where he'd have even less to do. :(

Date: 2006-09-17 02:36 am (UTC)Seriously. I mean, Teal'c and Ronon on the same show would certainly provide me with eye candy, but he wouldn't make sense in that context - he's be redundant for muscle, and unable to fulfill a leadership role, which seems to be the arc they'd been moving the character in, toward being more influential with the Jaffa and whatnot... sigh. I'm gonna miss me the SG-1, but I can't say that this season's been their best showing, unfortunately.
Look at it this way...
Date: 2006-09-17 03:29 am (UTC)Last week, I was all prepped for 2 days off, and (purely, and luckily, by chance) happened to sift thru a pile of papers and discover that I had a 110 page copy editing contract due in approx. 15 hours. Given that it was 7pm at night, this resulted in panic.
Not to mention an all-nighter the likes of which I hadn't seen since college finals a decade ago.
We'll all be here when you poke your head out....
