Normally, I wouldn't be able to resist that sucker, because of the siren call of Huge Epic with young Heston (rowr) and Yul Brynner (ROWR!), but I've got a housewarming party to attend. stultiloquentia's Stick Shift (Redux) is still one of the best NC-17 Spuffy stories I've ever read. Watch her get right to the heart of the gender and power issues by way of one sex scene. One-shot story, unbelievably awesome.

rikki_oko's Downward Spiral is a knockout. AU Season 2, where Spike is undeniably evil but strikes a truce with Buffy sooner than he did in the series, a tradeoff that leads to some really interesting places. WIP.

I can't remember if I've recc'd shadowscast's Sock Puppet before, but I know a lot of my flist did - Spike/Xander, amazing, heartfelt, and heartbreaking - but Late Night Porn Store Blues and the rest of the "Fragments" series that follows after it is, if anything, even more amazing. The current part of this series, "That Good Night," is a WIP, and by this part Buffy's entered the picture, as have a number of other friends. Totally absorbing universe; go read.

hesadevil's Soul Searching is a fantastic post-AtS followup - it's slightly AU, but I read it without having read the previous story in the series ("Family: Blood Calls to Blood," an alternative S5, which I actually didn't care for as much), so it's perfectly understandable for the most part as a direct continuation from "Not Fade Away." Very genfic - lots of tasty plot, with relationship issues only as part of the overall story. Great characterization on Angel, Spike, Buffy, Illyria... well, everyone, really. Good stuff.

missmurchison has updated her Pillow Talk universe with a Part II, and I still owe comments on this one and the previous story, but still. Happier Season 6 AU. Spuffy, but with all the implications tackled as they come up. It's a good 'un; dive in, enjoy.

Anne Baxter is awesome in the movie. Near the end, where she's all Lady MacBeth-ing at Ramses... wow. I always think of that beautiful shot of her in her black linens, silhoutted against the rampaging chariots.

That bunny icon is adorable. I need more animal icons!
