Working on the latest chapter, I came into the sudden realization that I had to have Angel icons. Mmm, Angel. Specifically, Angel and Spike icons. Because these guys are the roadshow which are sorta-kinda taking over my Spuffy fic, just for the moment, and you so gotta run with it when the muse sends you there, yo? Anyway, my icon hunt reminded me of [livejournal.com profile] amavel_bel's marvelous AtS Season 5 icons. Seriouly, these are the bestest fun. I'm sure others have pimped them, but that's hardly a reason not to do it again.

I'm having an odd little crisis over the whole icon thing, actually. To be perfectly honest, I'm not really all that sure how LJ icons work - looks like, from some older entries I've gone back to view, that LJ won't display an icon anymore if it's not in your current folder, which would mean then that the bulk of my fun icons will just show up as blanks when my paid time runs out, sob. Is the only way around this just to change your "default" icon all the time to suit one's mood? I guess I could live with that, although I'm awfully fond of my custom Cordelia that [livejournal.com profile] zerographic made me... or if you choose "no default," does the LJ just pick icons at random? That would be an okay option, except for the not-appropriate for all ages ones. What to do?

Have now officially exceeded my word count for "Dirty Back Road" in the sequel - yikes. This does not bode well for the overall final length of this now rambling monster. Of course, I kinda knew what I was in for when I began it - hey, let me tackle all those pesky issues remaining between Buffy and Spike that I see as majorly standing in the way of turning them into snuggly little fluffy love bunnies! THAT doesn't sound hard at all! (snort) If my brain totally explodes before I finish this epic, I promise I'll at least pen some sort of surreally enigmatic dream sequence chapter to wrap it all up.

I'm trying to reconstruct my old Spuffy playlists in iTunes - thanks to an iPod implosion, I have to rebuild them from scratch, which is darn annoying, since I'd been pretty pleased with my inner DJ's ability on those. There were two lists created during S6, which I'd broken up into roughly the boy list and the girl list, entitled "Depressed Girl" and "Frustrated Boy" - the "boy" list is still intact [edited to add: whups, no it's not, blast!], but the "girl" list, arguably better and more on-message, was the one to go up in smoke. Sigh. Heavy preponderance of Ani Difranco, Garbage, Curve, Eve, and a little The The and Fluke through in there for good measure. Difranco's "Dilate" remains one of those so-amazing albums.

Randomosity: The funniest movie I've seen recently would have to be Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter. With musical numbers and martial arts. It was close enough to a halfway good movie that it was almost sad it didn't have a bigger budget. (I should add here my estimation of what constitutes "good" in movies sometimes consists of enough funny butt-kicking to pay the price of admission, not necessarily the same thing as fine art, e.g., countless kung fu films of which I am desperately fond.) Well, gotta watch something while waiting for Blade III, don't I? (Triple H is a vampire! Eeee!)
