This Just Needs to Be Immortalized

Okay, for reasons I won't go deeply into, I'm watching the Knight Rider marathon on Sci-Fi Channel whilst working on fic. The episode of the moment is set in San Francisco, and so far I've been treated to Kit the Wonder Car crossing the Golden Gate Bridge to the sounds of the Jacksons' song "Torture" (?), tooling in endless circles around Fort Mason, chasing another wonder car through Potrero Hill (which is usually where you see SF car chases, since it's less trouble to clear the streets there than downtown, plus the hills are just as tall but the streets wider), and the always impressive Blaxploitation leading man Jim Brown as a prison escapee being set up to take on Our Hero Michael, the big-haired and oh-so-young David Hasselhoff, who in just the last episode, stunned us all with his almost-singing-career as a softcover New Waver. The "villains" of this piece include a lot of overdressed people standing over banks of computers that no doubt looked high-tech then, and includes a typical '80s femme fatale - tight dresses with big shoulders and cinch belts. You know, like the chick in V. This is downright manic. Hasslehoff is even sort of appealing for being so big and football linebacker-y.
And to think, I turned my nose up at this show at the time because it was too "guy" with all the car fetishizing. Who knew.

Something about how his pecs moved out of sync with the rest of his torso during his running in the opening credits seemed too reminiscent of the many pneumatically enhanced ladies from the cast. Of course *cough* I never actually watched the show, but I heard things...
